The North East Region Catchment Flood Management Plans

There are 13 of these plans, and the consultation period has now closed.

Plans will be produced for the following rivers: Wear, Tyne, Till and Breamish, North East Northumberland, Aire, Don, Wansbeck and Blyth, Calder, Derwent, Hull, Esk, Ouse.

Catchment Flood Management Plans - North East Region

We are starting to look at how we can manage flood risk to protect people, property and the environment in the longer term. The first step of this is developing Catchment Flood Management Plans.

In total there are 13 Catchment Flood Management Plans due to be completed in 2008. These will aim to:

It is extremely important that we work with other local planning authorities, landowners, local communities and other groups who have an interest in each area.

Opinions on the relevant documents must be sent to the Environment Agency at the address below by mid July. The specific return date will be advised when document is sent to you.
