Five rivers in Oxfordshire were on Flood Watch today following heavy rain.

The alert was placed on the River Ock today.

Also on Flood Watch are the rivers Evenlode, from Moreton-in-Marsh to Cassington and the catchment areas of the rivers Ray, Thame and Cherwell.

The Flood Watch that had been in place on the Windrush was lifted this morning.

A Flood Watch warning means that flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected, while a Flood Warning indicates that some properties are at risk of flooding.

However, the worst of the wet weather is over and today’s forecast for Oxfordshire is cloudy with only shattered showers.

The Flood Watches are expected to be lifted later in the week.

Nationally, 116 Flood Watches and 26 Flood Warnings are in place today.
